PGP College of Agricultural Sciences established in 2013 is approved by Government of Tamil Nadu and affiliated to Tamil Nadu Agricultural University, Coimbatore. Our Agriculture College is situated in an area of more than 150 acres green campus with Kolli hills as backdrop and surrounded by farms and villages. Fields and facilities in the 250 acre main campus in NH7, Paramathi are also utilized for the education of students.
The Campus has a green environment and a serene atmosphere that is gently conducive for effective learning. It imparts quality education in the field of agriculture to optimize each student’s overall development and help to realize their full potential.

B.Sc. (Hons.) Agriculture Duration: 4-Years
COURSE OBJECTIVE
B.Sc. (Hons.) Agriculture involves study of agriculture sciences and use of modern scientific equipment and techniques in agriculture, land surveying, soil science, water resource management, animal and poultry management, basic of biotechnology etc.
COURSE STRUCTURE
Agricultural education is a broad term which includes disciplines of Agriculture (Agronomy), Veterinary Science, Forestry, Fisheries, Horticulture, Home Science etc. The B.Sc. (Hons.) Agriculture degree in India is typically a 4-year course under credit based semester system.
Eligibility Criteria For B.Sc (Hons.) Agri Admission
Higher Secondary Course (HSC)/CBSE/Equivalent-Academic Stream
- Group I: Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Biology
- Group II: Physics, Chemistry, Biology with any one of the following subjects as fourth (elective) subject viz., Biochemistry or Biotechnology or Microbiology or Home Science or Computer Science
- Group II (A): Physics, Chemistry, Botany and Zoology
Diploma in Agriculture Duration: 2-Years
COURSE OBJECTIVE
In this article, we will have an in-depth analysis of Diploma in Agriculture course. It is a job oriented Diploma course.
COURSE STRUCTURE
Diploma in Agriculture course can be pursued by students who have completed 12th standard Science or Vocational group. It is a 2 year long academic program. Each academic year is usually divided into two semesters.
Eligibility Criteria For Diploma In (Agri)Admission
- Group I: Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Biology
- Group II: Physics, Chemistry, Biology with any one of the following subjects as fourth (elective) subject viz., Biochemistry or Biotechnology or Microbiology or Home Science or Computer Science
- Group II (A): Physics, Chemistry, Botany and Zoology
Higher Secondary Course (HSC)-Vocational Stream
- Biology and agricultural practices
Admission’s Procedure
Online application to TNAU is compulsory for admission under management quota.
For both the courses, 65 % of the seats will be admitted through TNAU single window system and
35 % under management quota adopting the University norms.

Co-Curricular Activities
NSS AND NCC
One unit of National Service Scheme is functioning at the PGP College of Agricultural Sciences, Namakkal since its inception as part of curriculum. NSS programme is offered in the College to the first and second year students. The programme officers will be given orientation training for effective conduct of the NSS programme. NSS regular activities were conducted for 120 hours per year
YOGA
Yoga for human excellence with 0+1 credit (PED101) is offered for I B.Sc.(Hons) Agri students as a part of their curriculum.
