Agricultural College and Research Institute, Coimbatore [AC&RI, Coimbatore]
Tamil Nadu Agricultural University (TNAU) had begun as an Agricultural School at Saidapet, Chennai in 1876 and blossomed as a College in Coimbatore, during 1906. The foundation stone for the Madras Agricultural College and Research Institute was laid in Coimbatore on 24th September, 1906 by the then Governor of Fort St. George, Sir Arthur Lawley.

The programme inculcates learning farming skills with scientific background and having its unique social scientific perspective by studying about the farming community through extension education.

Study Program
The B.Sc. (Hons) Agriculture is a four-year program. The curriculum includes basic courses on agriculture and allied sciences. Students will have rich exposure to farming, laboratory analysis, industry internships and experiential learning courses to earn while learn. Method of teaching includes lectures, farm work, laboratory analysis, and presentations.
Future Career
Graduates can be employed in the agro-based industries dealing seeds, fertilizer, pesticide, farm implements and equipments and food processing. The graduates are also employed in research institutes, Agri-Clinics, weather and price forecasting and other consultancy sectors. They can also become agri-entrepreneurs.
Moving to Master’s
