College of Agricultural Technology, Theni is a pioneering institution of agricultural education in southern district of Tamil Nadu, affiliated to Tamil Nadu Agricultural University, Coimbatore. The College was established in the year 2010 and it is symbolically designated as CAT – Theni by the official records and the public. The college is situated at the base of the foothills of Western Ghats of Kullapuram Village, at distance of 25 Kilometre away from Theni City and close to the fertile ever green Cumbum valley and Vaigai dam. The campus is located in a calm and natural surroundings with an extent of 153 hectares of land amidst of hillocks with full of natural vegetations. The College of Agricultural Technology (CAT Theni) inculcates globally acceptable practices in delivery of education and developing research culture.

Admission Procedure
The total number of students admitted to CAT, Theni is 120. Of which 50% of the sanctioned admission capacity will be admitted through Tamil Nadu Agricultural University single window system counseling and the remaining 50% will be admitted directly by CAT Theni Management by following the Tamil Nadu Agricultural University admission eligibility norms.
Eligibility Norms
Candidates who have passed Higher Secondary course or equivalent academic stream with the subjects mentioned here under can apply for B.Sc. (Agri) or B.Sc.(Hort)

Non Resident Indian (NRI) students shall also be eligible for admission as per the norms prescribed by Tamil Nadu Agricultural University.
Eligible minimum qualifying marks (Academic / Vocational stream)
- Open Competition (OC) – 55% Aggregate of all the four eligible subjects
- Backward Class (BC) and Backward Class Muslim (BCM) – 45% Aggregate of all the four eligible subjects
- Scheduled Caste (SC) / SCA Scheduled Tribe (ST) – A pass in qualifying examination
Age limit – Should not have completed 21 years as on 1.7.2024 For SC / ST No age limit
Nativity – Citizens of India and Union Territory People of Indian Origin Non-Resident Indian
Note: Candidates of other states will be eligible as provided below:
Kerala – Physics, Chemistry, Biology essential and the fourth subject may be Maths, Biochemistry, Biotechnology, Microbiology, Home Science, Computer Science
Vocational students are not eligible
Andra Pradesh – Elibility criteria will be decided based on the average arrived by taking the marks of both 11th and 12th standard aggregated to 200 total
Other States – As followed by TNAU. Average of 4 subjects computed to 200.
Application Procedure – Management quota
Application forms for admission to 50% of the management quota can be obtained from The Secretary, College of Agricultural Technology, Kullapuram, Vaigai Dam via, Theni 625 562 in person by paying the application fee of Rs. 1000/- or by Request through post by enclosing a demand draft for Rs. 1000/- (If the application form is downloaded from the website, a demand draft for Rs.1000/- in favor of “College of Agricultural Technology, Theni”, Payable at Theni, should be enclosed towards the cost of the application form).
